Daylight Savings Time Is Upon Us Again
Daylight Savings Time (DST) kicks off on Sunday, March 8th at 2:00 AM. When clocks "spring forward" the 2:00 - 3:00 AM hour disappears --- and that can impact payroll calculations for employees working overnight.
What Employers Should Do:
If you have outside vendors that automatically send you interfaces for payroll (especially time files), make sure that these files are received timely and not missed.
Review all overnight shifts that cross the 2:00 time change
Now is the time to have the conversation with employees affected, indicating that they may work one hour less than their scheduled shift. This communication will ensure that there are no surprises on their paychecks.
